BLOOMINGTON – A local Congressman says he got his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and is encouraging everyone to get vaccinated when it’s their turn.
U.S. Rep. Darin LaHood (R-Dunlap) is one of 500 lawmakers in Washington eligible for the Pfizer vaccine under continuity-of-government requirements.
LaHood told WJBC’s Scott Miller he trusts the doctors and scientists.
“Everybody recommends getting the vaccine,” said LaHood. “Similar to what you do with measles or polio or chickenpox, the vaccine is something we should all get to get through this pandemic. Obviously, we need to distribute it better and get it out across the country.”
LaHood says he will get his second dose in the coming weeks.
