BLOOMINGTON – Residents will see increased opportunities to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as the McLean County Health Department partners with Carle BroMenn Medical Center.

Starting Thursday, Jan. 28, residents in Phases 1A and 1B will have a weekly opportunity to register for vaccine appointments, according to MCHD.

Here’s what residents need to know:

  • New clinics will be posted each Thursday on the McLean County Health Department website, health.mcleancountyil.gov.
  • Residents with computer access can book appointments on the website. Residents without computer access can book appointments by calling the MCHD Covid-19 call center number (309) 888-5600.
  • Appointments are required and will book quickly, but every resident interested in getting the vaccine is expected to be able to do so, but it may take several months to reach everyone.
  • Residents will leave their first vaccine appointment with an appointment already scheduled for their return to get the second dose of the vaccine.

Current plans are to run at least three vaccine clinics per week. As the health department receives more vaccine doses, the partnership with Carle BroMenn will allow for additional clinic days or expanded hours.

The state has also launched a website with vaccine information and locations. Coronavirus.illinois.gov.

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
