Police say 5 Pontiac Prison guards face felony charges for Lexington bar fight

LEXINGTON – Five correctional officers at Pontiac Prison were arrested last week after a fight at a McLean County bar.

Lexington Police Chief David Belvery confirmed all five work at the prison, and were involved in the fight at DaT Bar on West Main Street in Lexington.

Also involved in the brawl were three bar patrons, who were not DOC employees. One of them was a 72-year old marine trying to break it up, authorities said.

No one had to be hospitalized.

They’re scheduled to be in McLean County Court Wednesday morning.
