Crews battle an apartment fire in Bloomington Sunday night

BLOOMINGTON – 36 people were able to escape an evening apartment complex fire in Bloomington.

In a post on Facebook, the Bloomington Fire Department says it broke out just before 8 PM Sunday at the Traditions Apartment Complex, located at 265 Reeveston Drive.

There, firefighters found flames spreading up an exterior wall into the 20 unit apartment complex’s attic space.

No residents or firefighters were injured, but one cat was taken to an animal hospital with what appears to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Red Cross is helping those affected by the fire inside the Traditions Apartment Complex main office.

Crews remain on scene, cleaning up and monitoring small spot fires.
