SPRINGFIELD – Illinois is ready to enter Phase 5 of the COVID-19 reopening plan next week.

That’s according to Gov. JB Pritzker who was asked that question during a news conference Tuesday.

“We are and in fact it’s scheduled for June 11,” said Pritzker.

New cases and hospitalizations are declining in Illinois, with some of the lowest totals record as of late. According to CDC numbers, more than 67 percent of Illinois adults have received at least one dose of the vaccine and more than half are fully vaccinated.
