BLOOMINGTON – More than a month after historic flooding in the Twin Cities, the Salvation Army of Bloomington is working with those impacted by the flooding.
Since the flooding occurred in late June, The Salvation Army has fielded calls for those in need and is currently working with over 200 individuals and 80 families.
“We have limited resources here that we were trying to our best to help as many as possible. We were able to give out, we had flood kits from part of our division, we had fans available still, so we gave those out to people,” said Angie Bubon, Director of Development for the Salvation Army Bloomington Corps.
Speaking with WJBC’s Marc Strauss, Bubon said the corps provided 23 nights of lodging at a hotel for individuals and families who were displaced by flooding.
“We’re continuing to try and help as best as we can. You know, it’s something that I’ve never seen in my time here. And I know that it was; I’m just trying to figure out how we can be of service.”
In total, the corps provided 64 flood kits and 51 fans for those impacted by the flooding.
