BLOOMINGTON – Most of central Illinois will be under a heat advisory Wednesday afternoon as temperatures will be in the low 90s, but heat indices will push into the triple digits.

Heart of Illinois ABC Meteorologist Balint Szalavari wants people to be cautious if they have to be outdoors.

“Make sure to stay hydrated and if you have to be outside for an extended period of time the next couple of days just make sure to take it easy and give yourself plenty of breaks,” Szalavari told WJBC’s Scott Miller.

Also, a reminder to never leave children or pets unattended in parked vehicles.

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
