Bloomington man arrested for drugs and active warrant

BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington man was arrested Sunday for an active McLean County warrant and drug charges.

Bloomington Police say Michael D. Oates, 49, was arrested for an outstanding warrant (Driving While License Revoked). Police say Oates was driving through a hotel parking lot at 1905 W. Market around 3:45 p.m.

Authorities say during a search of the vehicle approximately 138 grams of suspected cocaine and over $20,000 in cash were located. BPD says the suspected cocaine has a street value of approximately $14,000.

Oates was arrested for the active warrant as well as manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance and driving while license revoked. Oates was transported to the McLean County jail.
