Heat advisory for Wednesday; Cooling centers throughout McLean County

BLOOMINGTON – The hot and humid conditions will continue Wednesday across central Illinois and a reminder there are several cooling centers throughout McLean County.

The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a heat advisory from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesday. Heat index values could get up to 110 this afternoon.

There are several cooling centers across McLean County to help residents escape the heat. The center is a short-term emergency spot where people can get out of dangerous temperatures to prevent injury or loss of life.

NWS reminds people to drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles.
