MCHD reports 32 new cases of COVID-19; rolling positivity rate down slightly

BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Health Department is reporting 32 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday.

According to McLean County Health Department Public Affairs Coordinator Marianne Manko, the new cases come as 19 McLean County residents are hospitalized due to COVID-19. In addition, 12 residents from outside the county are hospitalized in twin-city hospitals with the virus.

Health officials report the county’s cumulative positivity rate remained steady on Thursday at 4.8%, while the 7-day rolling positivity rate is down to 4.3% from 4.8%.

Officials also report 405 people are isolating at home, while 19,033 people have been released from isolation and are considered recovered.

Approximately 177,439 doses of the vaccine have been administered in the county on the vaccine front, and 51.30% of the population are fully vaccinated.

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reports 52.23% of Illinoisans are fully vaccinated.

Since the start of the pandemic, county health officials report 242 COVID-related deaths in the county.
