BLOOMINGTON – A Colfax man, who prosecutors say is a repeat sex offender, has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Randall Patrick, 51, pleaded guilty in June to predatory criminal sexual assault of a child younger than 13. Prosecutors said the crime happened two years ago in Colfax.

McLean County Judge William Yoder’s punishment for Patrick matched the prosecution’s sentencing recommendation.

The assistant state’s attorney said in court that Patrick has a 1996 criminal sexual assault conviction. Patrick was given 10 years in prison in the earlier case.

Patrick must serve 85% of the 20-year term under truth-in-sentencing guidelines.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
