BLOOMINGTON – More businesses and organizations are mandating the COVID-19 vaccine. Currently, the is no vaccine requirement for employees who work for the City of Bloomington.
City Manager Tim Gleason says things could change if the numbers get worse.
“I’m hoping that I do not get to a point to where we have to impose a vaccination requirement,” Gleason said. “But if this does get worse, I think that question of our employees to find out who is vaccinated and show proof of a vaccination could occur. I think we are on firm ground to ask that question. Then for those who have choose not to be vaccinated, there might be a daily, or at the very least a weekly requirement to be tested.”
Earlier this week, the FDA granted full approval to the Pfizer shot. Up until now, the mRNA vaccine was on the U.S. market under an Emergency Use Authorization.
