BLOOMINGTON – A high bond has been set for a Bloomington man accused of stealing a car and resisting arrest.
On Sunday, Bloomington police responded to the 700 block of West Mulberry Street around 4:15 a.m. for reports of a residential burglary.
According to a news release, deputies say a vehicle and other property were stolen during the burglary.
A few minutes later, officers located the stolen vehicle approximately 1/2 of a block away, allegedly parked near the rear of Ryan Mooney’s residence.
While attempting to arrest Mooney, 29, of Bloomington, officers repeatedly restrained the suspect leading to additional charges.
The McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Mooney with one count of residential burglar, two counts of resisting arrest, one count of criminal trespass, and one count of burglary with causing damage.
Mooney’s bond was set at $100,000 with 10% to apply.
