HUDSON – McLean County Coroner Kathy Yoder has identified a body that was found in Lake Bloomington.
David L. Roesch, 58, of Saybrook was pronounced dead around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday. Yoder says preliminary autopsy results indicate Roesch died from drowning with non-fatal injuries of the forehead and lips consistent with blunt trauma, likely from a motor vehicle crash into the water. Roesch had severe hypertensive heart disease and obesity which would limit physical reserve, according to Yoder.
Yoder says there was no evidence of an assault or other injuries such as gunshot wounds, infection, or tumor.
Authorities were called Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. after a fisherman located the body in the water.
The incident is being investigated by the coroner’s office and McLean County Sheriff’s office.
