NORMAL – Normal Mayor Chris Koos wants the public to be a part of the discussion about how pandemic relief funds should be spent.

The Town of Normal is running a survey for input from the public about how to spend funds granted by the American Rescue Plan.

Koos spoke with WJBC’s Todd Wineburner.

“We felt it was appropriate to get a community feeling where they thought some of those dollars should be spent. There are a lot categories and there are a lot of rules on how those dollars can be spent,” said Koos.

The purpose of the survey is to collect feedback from residents to help prioritize investment areas to address in the Town of Normal related to COVID-19 impact and recovery.

You can find the survey here.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
