Local Health officials report two more COVID-related deaths

BLOOMINGTON – McLean County Health officials are reporting two additional COVID-related deaths since Friday.

Local health officials report the latest deaths include a male in his 70’s who was associated with a long-term care facility; and an 80-year old male who was not associated with a long-term care facility.

There have been 281 COVID-related deaths in the county since the start of the pandemic.

In addition, 12 McLean County residents are reported to be hospitalized due to COVID-19, while 12 people are hospitalized in McLean County hospitals for the virus.

At last count, hospitalization rates remained steady in the twin cities with 85% of ICU beds and 88% of total beds in use.

Officials also reported 104 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday.

The county’s cumulative positivity rate remained steady at 4.1% since Friday, while the rolling 7-day positivity rate decreased from 2.2% to 2.0%.

County officials report approximately 203,189 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the county, and 60.47% of the population are fully vaccinated.

The Illinois Department of Public Health reports 66.64% of Illinoians are fully vaccinated.
