Local health officials report four additional COVID-related deaths; 287 new cases since Friday

BLOOMINGTON – Four more McLean County residents have died from COVID-complications.

According to local health officials, the latest deaths include two males in their 60’s, who were not associated with a long-term care facility; one female in her 100’s and one female in her 70’s, who were both associated with long-term care facilities.

In addition, officials report 287 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday.

At last count, 27 McLean County residents are hospitalized due to COVID-19. Meanwhile, 45 people outside the county are hospitalized for COVID-19 in McLean County hospitals.

Local hospitals report that 85% of ICU beds are in use, and 93% of total beds are used. Officials report hospitalization in the county is down slightly from 88% of ICU beds in use and 98% of total beds in use on Friday.

The county’s cumulative positivity rate remained steady at 4.1%, while the county’s rolling 7-day positivity rate decreased to 4.8% from 5.9% on Friday.

Approximately 230,924 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered on the vaccine front in the county, and 57.34% of the population is fully vaccinated.

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) reports 59.41% of Illinois residents are fully vaccinated.
