Hospital beds in McLean County hit capacity as officials report 162 new cases of COVID-19

BLOOMINGTON – Hospital beds in McLean County are at capacity as health officials report 162 new cases of COVID-19.

Health officials report that 34 McLean County residents are hospitalized due to COVID-19 as 100% of ICU beds, and 99% of total beds are used.

According to a news release, 44 people from outside the county hospitalized with COVID-19 in the twin cities.

There have been 298 COVID-related deaths reported in the county.

The county’s cumulative positivity rate remained steady at 4.1%, while the rolling 7-day positivity rate remained steady from Wednesday at 5.2%.

On the vaccine front, 233,945 doses of the vaccine have been administered in the county, and 57.53% of the county’s population is fully vaccinated.

According to the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), 59.71% of the state’s population is fully vaccinated.
