NORMAL- Wednesday Evening, Illinois State President Terri Goss Kinzy announced that out of caution for COVID-19, all in-person classes during the first two week of the Spring Semester will be transitioned to online learning.
“Although this is not how any of us expected to begin the spring term, we must continue to make decisions that are in the best interest of the health and safety of our campus community,” Goss Kinzy said. We are taking a close look at Illinois State’s approach to the Coronavirus pandemic. “
All courses will be delivered online between January 10-January 21. some exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis for a small number of specific courses.
Regardless of vaccination status all students are required to provide a negative Covid-19 test administered by a healthcare provider, taken no more than 3 days prior to returning to campus facilities.
Illinois State first transitioned to online learning at the half point of the Spring 2020 semester, when the pandemic was in it’s early stages. Throughout the Fall 2020 and Spring 2021 semesters, the university allowed very little in-person learning before opening up the classrooms again throughout the Fall 2021 semester.
