BLOOMINGTON – As cases of COVID-19 continue to surge in McLean County, District 87 is changing school schedules to limit the spread.

The district said Raymond School of Early Education would continue with remote learning through January 21.

Meanwhile, Bloomington Junior High School students are moving to a revised schedule from January 12 through January 21.

The new schedule moves classes from 8:00 a.m. until 12:58 p.m. All classes will be 40 minutes long, and there is no lunch period.

At Bloomington High School, the schedule will be from 7:30 a.m. until 12:13 p.m. All classes will be 37 minutes long, and there is no lunch period.

Students would be able to receive a grab-and-go meal for lunch at the Junior High and High School as they are dismissed from school, and bus transportation would continue as scheduled.

The new schedule runs from January 12 through January 21.

There are no changes to the elementary school schedules during the altered schedules.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
