SPRINGFIELD – Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White says driver services facilities will be closed for one more week due to COVID-19.
Secretary of State offices and driver sevices facilities won’t open to the public until Monday or Tuesday, January 24 or 25, depending on regular business hours.
Spokesperson Henry Haupt says they want to be cautious and protect the health of workers and customers amidst the ongoing pandemic. He says this shouldn’t cause too big of a hassle.
“Driver license and ID card expirations have been extended until March 31,” said Haupt. “Secretary White also extended the expirations for CDL’s until January 31 for those CDL’s that expired between November 1, 2021 and the end of January of this year.”
Haupt says CDL facilities in Rockford, Springfield and Marion will open next Tuesday for in-person CDL transactions only.
