SPRINGFIELD – The governor says it’s hard to tell when you’re at the peak – until you’ve passed it.
Gov. JB Pritzker, at a news conference Wednesday afternoon, was optimistic, partly because of all the vaccinations, and partly because hospitalizations, and the use of ICU’s and ventilators are down.
“Some people who have heard this message before think that unvaccinated people have already made up their minds not to get vaccinated, so trying to convince them just won’t work.
“Well, that’s just not true.”
Pritzker said in the first half of this month, fourteen thousand people a day have gotten their first shot.
Asked about another topic – the growing Republican field for the 2022 gubernatorial primary – Pritzker volunteered that the challengers should face reporters’ questions, as he does. Members of the GOP “slate” of candidates which has rolled out this month have not been available for interviews since debuting their campaigns.
