Prosecutor: Mother didn’t mention kids at arrest or in jail

BLOOMINGTON – A mother arrested as the investigation continues into a missing infant made no mention of having children to law enforcement during her arrest or while in jail.

Kimberlee Burton, 29, also denied having kids to law enforcement when asked about it later.

During Burton’s bonding court on charges of child endangerment, the state in which a 5 & 6-year-old were described — it is alleged that they were left alone with the door unlocked, cold, hungry and without shoes and underwear.

Police say Burton observed behavior of mental illness.

Her bond has been set at $100,000 with a no-contact order on the children.

Her next court date is March 2.
