Children’s Discovery Museum in Uptown Normal returning to full operations

NORMAL – After two years of limited hours due to COVID-19, the Children’s Discovery Museum in Uptown Normal is returning to full operations after Spring Break.

According to a news release, the museum is recruiting staff to restore full operations after two years of significant closures and limited hours.

“Ater Spring Break, we hope our community is able and ready to return to a full-time play schedule with the museum’s usual high standards for health and safety protocols,” said Beth Whisman, Executive Director for Cultural Arts for the Town of Normal. “We sincerely appreciate our community’s support and our visitor’s patience and cooperation as we bounce back.”

The CDM will offer the following regular hours this spring:

Monday – Members only 9 a.m. to noon

Tuesday & Wednesday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Thursday & Friday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Sunday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

“We are excited to offer extended hours and times for families to play together, fostering learning and healthy development outside the home,” added Whisman.
