BLOOMINGTON – A teacher from McLean County’s largest school district is a finalist for Illinois teacher of the year.
The Illinois State Board of Education announced Marielena Gozur, a special education teacher at Unit 5, is the East Central Regional Teacher of the Year.
Gozur works as a special education teacher working with kindergarten through fifth-grade students at Cedar Ridge Elementary School.
Mrs. Gozur is now one of 10 finalists for Illinois Teacher of the Year with the award.
The winner will be named next month.
