Normal Police investigating armed robbery at local smoke shop

NORMAL – Police say they are still investigating after an armed robbery took place at a local smoke shop late Saturday morning.

Just before noon, police responded to Indy Smoke Shop at 112 North Street for a report of an armed robbery, according to Sgt. Rob Cherry.

A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect entered the business, drew a handgun and fled with an undisclosed amount of merchandise.

Police describe the suspect as a black male wearing a black coat, black shoes and blue jeans.

There were no injuries reported and the shop is still taking inventory to determine the value of the goods that were taken.

No arrests have been made and no further suspect information is available.
