BLOOMINGTON – The Multicultural Leadership Institute Board of Directors has a new executive director.
Cecilia Ruffin of Bloomington is the next executive director of the Multicultural Leadership Institute, which supports MCLP.
“Cecilia Ruffin embodies all the traits of a servant leader,” said Barbara Bouboutsis, President of the Multicultural Leadership Board. “She brings vision and energy to our initiatives. Most importantly, she has the ability to see and develop the potential in others.”
Ruffin, a 2018 grad of the 9-month program, said it provides transformative leadership experiences, serves the community, and advances equity.
“One thing that it’s going to do is help them understand who they are,” she told WJBC’s, Scott Miller. “There are three questions that we ask throughout the core of the program. And that is who am I? What are my strengths and passions? And what am I going to do about it? That is so important when you look at, as you stated, your community.”
Ruffin’s background includes serving as a volunteer with the McLean County Detention Center for over 20-years.
She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Services Counseling and Pastoral Counseling.
