BLOOMINGTON – On the heels of a federal indictment of the company’s CEO, the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) is not renewing its contract with Reditus Laboratories.
Last week, Reditus CEO Dr. Aaron Rossi was indicted on federal tax fraud charges dating back to 2015.
On Wednesday, the Pekin-based laboratory said they are closing their testing site at the Interstate Center at the end of March.
One of the largest in McLean County, the testing site tested nearly 1,300 people a day in the fall of 2020.
During the pandemic, Illinois State University’s Board of Trustees signed off on a five-month contract that gave Reditus Laboratories up to $3.3 million for COVID-19 tests.
Overall, Reditus has performed about 200,000 tests, one of the most in Bloomington since May 2020.
