NORMAL – A TV show highlighting colleges across the country has made its way to Central Illinois.
Illinois State University will be in the spotlight on the Amazon Prime show ‘The College Tour’.
Crews have been in pre-production for the last two months getting to know the Twin Cities and the campus and will be filming for the next five days.
Show host Alex Boylan said the ISU campus makes Normal one of the top college towns in the country.
“The friendliness, the spirit of this campus was felt during pre-production,” Boylan said.
“It was felt every single minute we’ve been on campus. The university cares about it’s students,” Boylan added.
Film crews will follow 10 students around as they share with them about their experience at ISU
The show will also highlight key aspects of campus like the Gamma Phi Circus, Mennonite College of Nursing, and more.
The show started during the pandemic to help people explore different colleges from their homes.
ISU Office of Admission’s Communications Coordinator Dillon Maher said the show is a great way to show the world what ISU has to offer.
“This is still a great opportunity for us to really get in front of more people and meet them where they’re at and tell the story of this institution because we think we have a great story to tell,” Maher said.
ISU sophomore student Macy Pfeifer said having their experiences featured on a show like the college tour is exciting.
“I saw them walking around campus the other day and I was kind of like ‘Oh, what are they doing here?” Pfeifer said.
“I saw all the cameras and everything. I think that’s really cool for us. It is am amazing campus so I’m glad they’re highlighting it,” Pfeifer added.
ISU’s episode will kick off season six and the show is slated to air on Amazon Prime video in November.
