BLOOMINGTON – A District 87 School Board member is resigning her elected position because she’s moving out of the district.
Tammy Houtzel informed the board of her resignation at Wednesday night’s meeting. The resignation is effective May 1.
Houtzel is moving to LeRoy, according to Superintendent Barry Reilly. Houtzel was first elected to the board in 2015, and she won a second term in 2019.
Reilly said the school board has 60 days to pick someone to serve the last year of Houtzel’s term. The next school board election is in the spring of 2023.
