Leah Marlene advances to Top 11 on ‘American Idol’

NORMAL – Normal’s own Leah Marlene is advancing to the next round on ‘American Idol,’ voted in Sunday night on the singing competition.

The 20-year-old Marlene was the first to be announced to move on to the next round by getting enough votes from the audience, after performing ‘Happy Together’ by the Turtles.

Leah is a 2019 graduate of Normal West High School. She was an honors student participating in Choir, Drama, and Key Club. She also attended Prairieland Elementary School and Parkside Junior High in Normal. In fact, Leah first performed on stage at Prairieland’s talent show.
