Green Gables fundraiser a ‘smash’ hit at Epiphany Farms

BLOOMINGTON – Over 600 smash burgers were served up Wednesday night in downtown Bloomington as Green Gables teamed up with Epiphany Farms.

Green Gables, a landmark staple by Lake Bloomington, burned several weeks ago, leaving the popular restaurant in ruins.

To raise funds for the restaurant, cooks from Green Gables grilled up smash burgers to serve at Epiphany Farms.

“I almost am without words,” Green Gables owner Amy Teague said. “It’s amazing. I look around here, and I know every single person in the building. I look at the bar, and it’s just a normal night at Gables, just a different place. Thank you, everyone – totally amazing.”

Epiphany Farms’ Chef Ken said the fundraiser that benefited Green Gables was a no-brainer.

“McLean County showed up. Bloomington, Lake Bloomington, Green Gables, we are really, really proud of what just happened.”

There is no estimate on the proceeds raised.
