BLOOMINGTON – Make Music Normal is making a return to Uptown in June, and nearly 50 performers are scheduled to take the stage.

Make Music Normal is an all-ages, free-to-attend festival taking place annually in Uptown Normal.

Missing from this year’s event will be Normal native Leah Marlene. Fresh off her thrill ride on American Idol, Marlene has confirmed she will be unable to perform at

Adam Fox, Civic Arts Manager for The Town of Normal, says that this years event still could be the best they’ve ever had.

“Make Music Normal is still going to go ahead on June 24 and June 25. Leah was one of 50 different performers and community groups that was going to be apart of that amazing event celebrating music here in the community,” Fox said.

“We are still very excited to move forward with everything that we have been planning. Leah would have been a great part of that event, but was just one part of the event.”

Marlene will be joining the Scott Miller Show at 9:05 tomorrow to discuss her absence from Make Music Normal and more.

Illinois poet Vachel Lindsay…

In these troubled times, to my fellow white Americans

By Mike Matejka Our nation is at a unique watershed in human relations. African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
