BLOOMINGTON – Ahead of the busy summer driving season, the Illinois Secretary of State is reminding the public of the rules and regulations in place at the DMV.
A big reminder is that the public can make an appointment for the summertime rush.
“We’re offering appointments for the in-car driving test,” said Beth Kaufman, Deputy Press Secretary for the Sec. of State’s office. “Or if you need to come in to renew your license and you are not eligible to renew online, that’s when you need to make an appointment.”
Due to the pandemic, the DMV moved to an appointment format to limit the spread of COVID-19.
“Secretary of State Jessie White really wanted to reiterate the message that appointments are available in Bloomington, you can go online, or if you don’t have access to the internet, you can dial in by phone and make an appointment.”
The Bloomington DMV at 1510 W. Market St. is open Tuesday – Thursday from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m and on Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. – noon.
