NORMAL – According to a report from Bloomberg, Rivian Automotive is on the verge of laying off hundreds of workers.
The report indicates the automotive manufacturer could target a 5% reduction out of their 14,000 employees.
The layoffs are still being planned, and nothing has been decided.
According to the report, the cuts could focus on “nonmanufacturing roles,” but it’s unclear what that means for the Normal facility.
Rivian, who has locations in Michigan, Arizona, Illinois, Vancouver, and the United Kingdom, did not respond to comment.
