NORMAL – A man from Normal has been charged with possession of child pornography, Attorney General Kwame Raoul’s office announced today.

Andrew F. Bachman, 32, was charged in McLean County Circuit Court with 11 counts of possession of child pornography. Each of these are class 2 felonies punishable by three to seven years in prison.

Raoul’s investigators, with the assistance of the Normal Police Department, conducted a search of a residence Thursday, June 9 on Logan Dr. in Normal, and arrested Bachman on Friday, July 8 after discovering evidence of child pornography.

Bachman must post $50,000 to walk free. His next court date is set for August 5.

“Each time an offender downloads, shares or views one of these horrific images, survivors and their families are re-victimized,” Raoul said. “I am committed to continuing to team up with law enforcement at all levels to hold individuals who possess and distribute child pornography accountable.”

I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
