BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington City Council members didn’t vote Monday night on a proposal for parking ticket amnesty that would benefit area kids.
Several questions came up about repeat parking ticket offenders, more than 50 of them, and whether they should have to pay.
Under the proposal, the city would have accepted a partial payment on the unpaid tickets and then donated a portion to the Back 2 School Alliance, which gives backpacks and school supplies to kids that need them.
City council members decided to send the item back to staff to possibly reconsider at a later time.
Bloomington City Manager Tim Gleason will join the Scott Miller Show on WJBC Tuesday morning at 8:05.
