BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington-Normal YMCA is packing up their boxes at 602 South Main Street and moving across town.
The YMCA’s new facility is in partnership with EasterSeals Central Illinois and will debut on Monday, August 22 at 202 Saint Joseph Drive in Bloomington.
YMCA’s Chief Operating Officer, Patrick Mainieri, explained the partnership with EasterSeals Central Illinois with WJBC’s Neil Doyle.
“As we were looking for strategic partners to help us with the capital campaign and funding, EasterSeals came on board with us,” Mainieri said.
“They have done an incredible job of designing their space to service their youth that they support. We are super excited on the YMCA side to learn from them, because we know we can do a better job at adaptive programming for our youth and our adults.”
A grand opening celebration will take place August 29 to September 1.
The YMCA will close their current location at 602 S. Main Street at the close of business on Sunday, August 21 ahead of the opening of it’s new building.
