LIVINGSTON COUNTY – Opening statements begin Tuesday in Livingston County for the man charged in a 2019 triple murder in Cullom, Illinois.
Court records indicate a jury of 12 people, and two alternates were sworn in on Monday.
Clifford Brewer has pled not guilty to the charges.
Brewer told Police in 2019 that he and his wife got into an argument before he fell asleep in the early hours of the morning.
Brewer said he woke up hours later to find his wife Shirley, their son Christian, and their neighbor Normal Walker shot dead.
In a prior court appearance, Livingston County State’s Attorney Randy Yedinak said the evidence at the scene proves Clifford was the killer.
