NORMAL – Police are investigating a deadly shooting that happened at a Twin Cities hotel.
According to a release from Normal Police, officers responded to a person shot at the Candlewood Suites on Susan Drive around 3:40 a.m. Sunday. There, they found a man in the parking lot, where they rendered aid.
The 29-year-old male was taken to a local hospital, and later pronounced dead. The victim’s name is being withheld until family is notified.
Normal PD Patrol and Criminal Investigations began an investigation into the events leading up to the incident. At this time, there is no threat to the public.
This marks the sixth homicide in Bloomington-Normal this year.
The police department confirms with us that this incident is unrelated to the standoff last week at a Comfort Suites nearby. A BB gun was found during the search.
