State police investigate fatal crash in McLean County Tuesday

MCLEAN COUNTY – Illinois State Police are investigating a fatal crash involving a semi and a motorcycle.

A release says that the driver of a red Harley Davison motorcycle was stopped in the southbound lanes of State Street at the intersection with U.S. 54 in Bellflower.

State police identified the driver as Larry Sosamon, 75, from Saybrook.

State police say he pulled into the path of a semi and was fatally injured.

The driver of the semi, from Clinton, was not injured.

The crash happened at around 12:52 p.m. Tuesday.
