SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois House minority leader looks to bat .500 on her anti-drug bills.
Tony McCombie (R-Savanna) wants to make it easier for drug users to test their drugs for hidden fentanyl.
Her bill “allows pharmacies and retailers to sell potentially life-saving fentanyl test strips over the counter. This legislation would also allow county health departments to distribute the test strips to the public for free.
“I’m proud that this bill is moving forward in a bipartisan fashion.”
Not so much for a bill for stiffer penalties for drug trafficking. Supermajority Democrats at the Capitol take a dim view of sentence enhancements.
