Pontiac woman sustains multiple gunshot wounds in shooting late Friday night

PONTIAC – Police officers in Pontiac were dispatched late Friday night on a call referencing that an individual had been shot.

Officers arrived to the 400 block of West Cleary Street where a 36 year old woman had suffered multiple gun shot wounds.

The woman told Pontiac Police that an unidentified male approached her and fired four shots in her direction from a handgun.

The gunman fled the scene, but was described as wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a black ski mask.

The victim was transported to a local hospitial, and was said to be in stable condition.

Pontiac Police believe this was a targeted incident and not a random act.

This case remains under investigation and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Pontiac Police Department.
