GENNESEO, Ill. – Two men are behind bars in Geneseo, Illinois, for what Illinois State Police call one of the largest drug busts in history.
Authorities say they stopped an eastbound bus on I-80 near milepost 13 in Henry County.
During the stop, officers found numerous traffic violations.
According to a news release, ISP brought a drug K-9 to sniff the vehicle.
Authorities say the dog alerted police to over 5,200 hundred pounds of cannabis worth almost $15M.
Robert Mazo, 29 and Pedro Arreola, 33, both of Lancaster, Cali., face multiple Class X felonies for drug trafficking.
The pair were released on pre-trial conditions.
