A Pennsylvania man faces animal drug and animal cruelty charges in McLean County.
McLean County Sheriff’s deputy stopped Judah Sliker, 44, on Sunday on I-74 eastbound near mile marker 144 for traffic violations.
Authorities report Slicker was driving a semi-truck pulling an animal hauler with an injured Zebra, six cows, one sheep, and 130 goats.
According to a news release, Jay Pratt, the Director of the Miller Park Zoo in Bloomington, responded to the scene to examine the Zebra.
Authorities then transferred the animals to the McLean County Fairgrounds for further assessment.
On Monday, local vets and the Illinois Department of Agriculture evaluated the Zebra who euthanized the animal due to its injuries.
The rest of the animals were transported to a resting place.
Slicker is out on pretrial release.
