BLOOMINGTON – In a move to bring more entertainment to the City of Bloomington, city leaders announced the hiring of an Assistant Director of Arts and Entertainment.

Mike Wilcott joins the city as the assistant after leaving his post as the Devon Lakeshore Amphitheater General Manager in Decatur.

“(I’ve) been working on this for a while,” Wilcott said on WJBC’s Afternoon Show. “I was actually with the Decatur Park District prior to this. (I was) the General Manager of the Devon Lakeshore Amphitheater for five years, got it started and up to a great level. (I) had a chance to move here and start with the City of Bloomington and I’m excited to get things moving more at the (Grossinger Motors) Area and at the BCPA.”
In addition, the city announced Joshua Maubach as the Marketing Manager for the department.

Maubach brings a plethora of experience in the entertainment industry.

Wilcott and Maubach started their positions earlier this month.

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
