BLOOMINGTON – One local nonprofit made sure those with low income in McLean County could have a turkey on Thanksgiving.
It’s a part of Home Sweet Home Ministries’ annual Thanksgiving meal giveaway to 2,000 McLean County residents.
“It’s really an honor for us to be in the position that we are at Home Sweet Home Ministries,” said Matt Burgess, Chief Executive Officer at HSHM in Bloomington told WJBC’s Todd Wineburner. “We get to see such generosity poured out and to be the ones interacting with folks who are receiving that. It’s a place of honor that we don’t take for granted that we are in the position to help so many people.”
Over the past month, residents around McLean County donated food to the non-profit to hand out for Thanksgiving.
On top of the donation, HSHM planned to feed around 150 people on Thanksgiving day.
