Bloomington fire crews respond to Thursday morning house fire

BLOOMINGTON – The Bloomington Fire Department responded to a house fire Thursday morning on the city’s near west side.

Fire crews were called just after 11 a.m. to the 600 block of West Mulberry Street and located the blaze in the basement of the home, according to a news release. Crews were able to contain the fire and cleared the scene around 12:30 p.m.

Authorities said no injuries were reported and there was some smoke and water damage throughout the home.

The cause of the fire and a dollar estimate of damage are still under investigation.
