BLOOMINGTON – A Normal native, formally in the top three on American Idol, is out with new music on Friday.
Leah Marlene launches a new E.P. on Friday called “We’re All buying Into A Dream.”
While it was a dream to be on American Idol, Marlene wants to make her dream of being a hit singer a reality with the new E.P.
“I will say (the new E.P.) is diffidently more distilled than any project that I’ve ever released,” Marlene told WJBC’s Scott Miller. “I started writing this project the month coming off of (American) Idol. So it’s really characterizing the questions and the things I was focused on that year.”
Along with the new E.P., Marlene plans to play in eight cities on the East Coast in February.
“(This E.P) is characterizing a lot of the things that I was going through the year after (American) Idol. (I was) asking a lot of questions of what it means to be an artist, but also live a meaningful life,” added Marlene.
Since American Idol, Marlene has been calling Nashville, Tenn. home while touring the United States.
