BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington’s top cop recently completed the Executive Leadership Program at the Naval Postgraduate School’s Center for Homeland Defense and Security.

The new honor allowed Chief Jamal Simington to collaborate on policy, strategy, and organizational design challenges with homeland security officials.

The cohort of students from across the country allowed authorities to represent various backgrounds to enhance Homeland Security.

Simington spent over 22 years with the Illinois State Police before joining Bloomington as Chief in 2021.

As the Chief, Simington oversees 128 sworn officers and 37 professional staff employees.
